Bredhoff & Kaiser welcomes applications from graduating law students, law clerks, and other attorneys with outstanding academic backgrounds who seek a challenging practice in a collegial and informal professional setting. B&K has a diverse practice; its clients include labor unions, individual employees, non-profits, employee benefit funds, and others. The firm’s standards are high; we are committed to providing clients with the best possible representation in all aspects of our practice. To accomplish this, we seek to hire exceptional candidates as associates, and we commit to provide associates top-notch training and mentorship.
Because the firm is small and deemphasizes hierarchy, associates take substantial case responsibility almost immediately as an active member of a team. With appropriate supervision, members pass direct client relationships and significant case responsibility to associates as early in their careers as possible. Over the years, the firm has found that this approach to its work and its internal relationships results in better products, better attorney development and a more satisfying work environment.
Unlike other law firms, the decision to promote associates to membership does not turn on economics. If an associate does well at the firm, he or she will become a member. Because of this, the firm views the professional development of its associates as an investment in the future of the firm. The result is a collegial and cooperative work atmosphere.
B&K is an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of our attorneys and staff—we believe that diversity, including racial diversity, reflects our values and improves the quality of our work—and we strongly encourage applications from Black and indigenous persons and people of color, from persons identifying as LBGTQ+, and from persons with disabilities.
