Linda Elliott

Linda Elliott joined Bredhoff & Kaiser as Of Counsel in 2023, following a diverse legal career in litigation, teaching, scholarship, and court administration. For a decade, Linda represented indigent adults and juveniles in all phases of criminal prosecutions as a staff attorney at the Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia and a Visiting Associate Professor of Law and Prettyman Fellow at the Georgetown Law Center Criminal Justice Clinic. Most recently, as Of Counsel at Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, Linda spent four years representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation, including particularly trial preparation of a large antitrust class action on behalf a union benefit trust and others suing a major California hospital system. Between her stints as a trial attorney and litigator, Linda served for six years as Special Counsel and Permanent Law Clerk to Hon. Harry T. Edwards, as well as five years as Deputy Circuit Executive and as Special Counsel for Legal Affairs for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. From 2007 through 2016, Linda was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the New York University School of Law and, from 2009 through 2014, served annually as a Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Peking School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China. Linda also co-authored (with Hon. Harry T. Edwards) a leading handbook on standards of review in the federal appeals courts: Federal Standards of Review: Review of District Court Decisions and Agency Actions (Thomson Reuters 3d ed. 2018).

Linda holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Yearbook of International Legal Studies, an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.A. in Political Science from Kalamazoo College.
