Lane Shadgett

Lane Shadgett joined Bredhoff & Kaiser as an Associate in 2023. His practice focuses on litigation and arbitration on behalf of labor unions and their members.

Before joining the firm, Lane clerked for Judge Jia M. Cobb at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and Judge Joshua Deahl at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. He was a Peggy Browning Fellow in the General Counsel’s Office at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and served as a law clerk for Member Lauren McFerran at the National Labor Relations Board.

Lane received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Harvard University. During law school, Lane served as Executive Articles Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and participated in Georgetown’s Civil Litigation Clinic. He received the Francis E. Lucy, S.J., Award, which is presented to the student in each law school class with the highest academic achievement. Lane also founded the Georgetown University Law Center Labor & Employment Law Society, which remains in operation today.

Prior to law school, Lane worked for many years as a screenwriter in Los Angeles, where he was a proud member of the Writers Guild of America, West.

Lane is a member of the Maryland bar. Application pending for admission to the District of Columbia bar. Practice supervised directly by principals of the firm.
