Of Counsel

Daniel Gill joined the firm as Of Counsel in December 2022. Daniel brings his thirty years’ experience in litigation and complex business disputes to his practice representing multiemployer pension funds in enforcing employer compliance with required contributions and withdrawal liability assessments.

Before joining the Firm, Daniel was a legal reporter for Bloomberg Law primarily writing on bankruptcy issues and news. This work built on his experience at two boutique bankruptcy law firms, where he represented debtors, creditors, trustees, and asset purchasers. Daniel spearheaded litigation on behalf of bankruptcy estates to recover assets as well as pursuing or defending claims in adversary proceedings. Before private practice, Daniel served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert Alberts, Bankruptcy Judge for the US Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

In addition to serving as outside counsel regarding business-formation, debt restructuring, and general commercial litigation, Daniel has experience as a corporate officer and counsel for a then-fledgling web-based logistics platform (now known as Fort Systems). Later, while he was at Bloomberg-industry Group, Daniel served as a shop steward for The Guild at INDG, a unit of the Washington-Baltimore News Guild.

Daniel has participated as a panelist or moderator in a number of continuing-education seminars for lawyers.

Daniel received his law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1991. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature, with honors, from University of California, Santa Cruz.

Daniel is a member of the bars of Washington, DC, and Maryland (and has inactive status in California). He is admitted to practice and has appeared in a number of federal district and appellate courts.
