National Postal Mail Handlers Union Continues Contract Discussions (November 2011)

The National Postal Mail Handlers Union (“NPMHU”) engaged in bargaining sessions with the U.S. Postal Service in the days leading up to November 20, 2011 expiration of the collective bargaining agreement covering thousands of NPMHU members nationwide.  The NPMHU bargaining team, with the assistance of attorneys from Bredhoff & Kaiser, has been working towards negotiating terms covering a host of important and complicated issues, including compensation, work rules, and benefits.  The parties have now extended the bargaining deadline to Wednesday, December 7, 2011.  If a settlement is not reached, the parties will be headed to binding interest arbitration.
