Abigail V. Carter

Abigail Carter began at the firm in 2003 and has been a member since January 2011. She represents clients in appellate and trial-court matters, as well as in administrative proceedings and arbitrations.  Abigail has co-authored briefs in the United States Supreme Court, and has argued appeals in the federal circuit courts.  At the trial-court level, Abigail’s practice has included the representation of retirees in complex employee-benefit class actions; the representation of unions in trusteeship matters; and the representation of both unions and individuals in a wide range of employment matters.

Abigail received her A.B. from the College of the University of Chicago and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, magna cum laude. Prior to joining the firm, Abigail served as a law clerk to the Honorable James Robertson, United States District Court for the District of Columbia and as a Supervising Attorney at the Georgetown University Law Center Appellate Litigation Clinic.
