Tearyn Parroff

Tearyn Parroff joined the firm in 2006.  Her practice focuses on a broad range of employee benefit matters related to compliance with the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA. She provides counseling and advice relating to the day-to-day administration of health and pension plans and has extensive experience designing health plans, drafting plans' governing documents, and negotiating various types of contracts with insurance carriers and other plan service providers.

In addition to Tearyn's employee benefits practice, she represents clients in connection with state and federal audits and investigations for all types of matters ranging from annual filings (Forms 5500, LM-2 reports, etc.) to sales tax.

Tearyn also advises non-profit organizations on tax compliance, lobbying disclosure requirements, and other matters related to their operations.

Prior to joining the firm, Tearyn served as in-house counsel to a health and welfare fund of a large international labor union, after having worked in that labor union's benefit fund office for more than nine years. Her in-house counsel and administration experience provides an excellent foundation for understanding her clients' needs.

Tearyn received her J.D. from George Mason Law School in 2004 and graduated cum laude from American University in 1998 with a degree in International Studies.  She is currently the Chair of the Programs and Education Committee of the District of Columbia Bar Association's Health Law Section. Tearyn is a member of the bars of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
